Note: Don't expect five-star service, but it will be warm hospitality. Some may even welcome you to their home for meals. Just don't hesitate, for that's the culture!

• Ram Navami Mela: One of the largest gatherings is of course - food stalls, local handicrafts, and cultural performances.

• Dussehra: Here you will be treated to a performance of Ramlila-that is, local plays of Ramayana-performed under the stars.
