By Air

The nearest airport is Shillong Airport. A more common option is Guwahati Airport. From the airport, travelers continue by taxi or shared vehicle toward the hills. The drive from Guwahati takes around 5 to 6 hours. As you move ahead, the air gets cooler and the roads turn greener.

By Train

The nearest railway station is Guwahati Railway Station. There is no direct train to Cherrapunji. After reaching, you can take a taxi or shared cab. The road journey is long but comfortable. Hills start appearing after crossing the plains.

By Road

Cherrapunji is well connected by road from Shillong. The distance is around 50 km and takes about 2 hours. The drive is smooth with beautiful views all around. Many people prefer staying in Shillong and doing a day trip, but staying in Cherrapunji feels more peaceful.
