1. A Quick Introduction to Balod

The year 2012 saw Balod being carved out as a separate district. Visible are forests, mountains, and rivers. • Chhattisgarhi Thali - An assortment of rice, dal, chapatis, and local vegetables. 

• Fara - A steamed rice dumpling dish served with chutney. 

• Chilla - A pancake made with either rice or gram flour. 

• Mahua Drink - A sort of indigenous drink made from Mahua flowers (for adults only).
