Reached Kalpetta around afternoon. The drive into Wayanad Kerala already felt different. The road slowly climbed into hills and suddenly everything looked greener. Much greener than I expected. I checked into a small homestay. Nothing fancy but very peaceful. The owner gave me black tea from their garden. Evening I walked around the town a little. Small shops. Quiet streets. Ate simple Kerala meals. Rice, curry, fish fry. Slept early because the air already felt sleepy.

The closest railway station is Kozhikode Railway Station. From the station you can hire a taxi or take a bus toward Wayanad. The hill road from Kozhikode to Wayanad is quite scenic.
