This cultural tour through the mystical Western valleys of Bhutan is an ideal introduction to the Dragon Kingdom. Experience Bhutanese hospitality, admire the ever-changing landscapes, and immerse yourself in Bhutan’s rich buddhist culture. Highlights include Ta Dzong Museum, Rimpong Dzong with its wooden cantilevered bridge and the famous Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest) in the beautiful Paro Valley, The National Memorial Chorten, 12th century Changangkha Temple and the National Library exhibiting ancient scriptures in Bhutan’s capital Thimphu, and after crossing the 3050m Dochula Pass with spectacular Himalayan views, a journey into the sub-tropical Punakha Valley featuring the incredible the Punakha Dzong and Chimi Lhakang, temple of the ‘Divine Madman’.

DAY 1

Day 1: Arrive at Paro – Transfer to Thimphu

Arrival: Paro International Airport
Activities:
- Visit Tamchog Lhakhang Iron Bridge on the way
- Explore Tashichho Dzong (Thimphu Fortress)
- Walk around Thimphu Main Street and local craft shops
Overnight: Thimphu

DAY 2

Day 2: Thimphu Sightseeing

Highlights:
- Buddha Dordenma – Giant Buddha statue overlooking the valley
- National Memorial Chorten
- Folk Heritage Museum and Textile Museum
- Simply Bhutan Museum (optional cultural experience)
Evening: Visit Centenary Farmers Market and stroll along Norzin Lam
Overnight: Thimphu

DAY 3

Day 3: Thimphu – Punakha Excursion – Return to Thimphu

Drive: 3 hrs one way
En Route:
- Dochula Pass (3,100 m) – 108 stupas and Himalayan views
In Punakha:
- Visit Punakha Dzong – one of Bhutan’s most beautiful fortresses
- Short hike to Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility)
Return: Drive back to Thimphu
Overnight: Thimphu

DAY 4

Day 4: Thimphu – Paro & Sightseeing

Drive: 1.5 hrs
Activities in Paro:
- National Museum (Ta Dzong)
- Paro Dzong (Rinpung Dzong)
- Kyichu Lhakhang – one of Bhutan’s oldest temples
Evening: Explore Paro town and local cafés
Overnight: Paro

DAY 5

Day 5: Paro – Hike to Tiger’s Nest (Taktsang Monastery)

Morning:
- Early hike to Tiger’s Nest Monastery (4–5 hrs round trip)
- Enjoy tea at the viewpoint café
Afternoon: Relax or shop for souvenirs
Overnight: Paro
