Overview
Discover Gangtok-Darjeeling in this exciting 6D/5N package: Start with a scenic 4.5-hour drive from Siliguri/NJP to Gangtok for city tours featuring flower shows, monasteries, and Banjhakri Falls. Day 3 explores high-altitude Tsomgo Lake and Baba Mandir (Nathula optional with permit). Transfer to Darjeeling for Tiger Hill sunrise over Kanchenjunga, plus zoo, pagodas, and tea garden views before airport drop. Perfect blend of Sikkim vibes and Darjeeling classics!
DAY 1
Upon arrival at NJP, IXB, or Siliguri, you will be transferred to Gangtok (120 km, approx. 4.5 hours). Check-in at the hotel and relax for the evening. Overnight stay at Gangtok.
DAY 2
After breakfast, proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Gangtok (8:30 AM - 4:30 PM), covering important sites such as the Handicraft Centre, Bakthang Waterfalls, Tashi Viewpoint, Gonjang Monastery, Nature Interpretation Centre, Ganesh Tok, Flower Show, Tibetology Museum, Chorten Stupa, and Banjhakri Waterfalls. Overnight at the hotel.
DAY 3
Start early after breakfast for a full day excursion to Tsomgo Lake (12,400 ft) and New Baba Mandir (13,200 ft). In case of permit issues or unforeseen circumstances, alternate sightseeing will be arranged. Nathula Pass requires a special permit issued by Sikkim Tourism on the day of travel and involves extra cost. Valid documents must be submitted seven days prior. Permits are non-refundable and closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
DAY 4
After breakfast, depart for Darjeeling by road (110 km, approx. 4 hours). Upon arrival, check into the hotel. The evening is free for leisure or strolling around Mall Road. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.
DAY 5
Early morning starts with a visit to Tiger Hill (3:30 AM) to view the sunrise. Return via Ghoom Monastery and Batasia Loop. Later, enjoy the city tour (9:00 AM to 3:30 PM) including the Japanese Temple and Peace Pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park (closed Thursdays), Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (closed Thursdays), Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-help Centre (closed Sundays), and an outer view of the tea gardens.
DAY 6
After breakfast, transfer to Bagdogra Airport (IXB), NJP Railway Station, or Siliguri for onward journey (approx. 3 hours, 70 km).
