One of India's most revered pilgrimage sites, Kedarnath is part of the Char Dham Yatra and is situated at an elevation of 3,583 meters in Uttarakhand's Garhwal Himalayas. The Kedarnath Temple, dedicated to Lord Shiva, is thought to have been constructed by the Pandavas and resurrected in the eighth century by Adi Shankaracharya. The temple, which is close to the Mandakini River and surrounded by snow-capped peaks, is a stunning example of both ancient architecture and spiritual devotion.
Traveling to Kedarnath is an exciting and spiritual experience. Although helicopter services are also offered for convenience, pilgrims typically travel 16 km to reach the temple from Gaurikund, the base point.
