Overview
A few practical notes:Gir safari bookings fill up fast, especially in peak season (Dec–Mar) — book online in advance via the Gujarat Forest Department portal.Gir is closed mid-June to mid-October (monsoon), so plan this trip outside that window.Ahmedabad to Gir drive is long (~5-6 hrs); an early start on Day 2 helps you settle in before dark.Diu is a Union Territory and sells alcohol legally (unlike Gujarat) — a popular reason people extend their stay there.
