Jog Falls, also known as Gerosoppa Falls or Jogada Gundi, is one of the highest waterfalls in India, located in Shimoga district, Karnataka. The Sharavathi River plunges from a height of 830 feet (253 meters) creating a breathtaking cascade of four distinct falls—Raja, Rani, Rocket, and Roarer. Surrounded by lush green forests and hills, Jog Falls is a popular tourist destination, especially during the monsoon when the falls are in full glory
The Sigandur Chowdeshwari Temple is a famous temple dedicated to Goddess Chowdeshwari Devi, located near Sagar in Shimoga District. Situated on the banks of the Sharavathi River, the temple is surrounded by backwaters and can be reached via a unique barge ferry service. The Goddess is believed to be very powerful and is revered for granting justice and protection to devotees..
